Privacy Policy
Last updated October 1, 2026
This policy explains what information Texted You Back collects, why, and what we do with it. We keep it simple: we collect what's needed to run the service, and we don't sell personal information.
Information we collect
- Account and business details: your name, email, cell number, password (stored only as a secure hash), business name, hours, messages and settings.
- Calls and texts handled for a business: the phone number of people who call or text a business using the service, the time of the call, and the content of text messages exchanged, so the business can see and answer them.
- Contact form: the name, business, phone, email and message you send us.
- Technical data: basic request data such as IP address, used for security (for example, blocking repeated failed logins) and kept only briefly.
Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to keep you logged in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. Our pages load fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser contacts Google's servers when you visit.
How we use information
- To run the service: send the missed-call text, relay replies, and show activity to the business.
- To manage accounts, provide support, and reply to messages you send us.
- To keep the service secure and prevent abuse.
We don't use the phone numbers or messages of people who contact a business for our own marketing.
Text messaging
If you call a business that uses Texted You Back and the call isn't answered, you may receive a text from that business about your call. Message frequency varies: usually one automatic text, then any conversation you choose to have. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out at any time, or HELP for help. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We do not sell, rent or share mobile phone numbers or text-messaging opt-in information with third parties for their marketing purposes.
Who we share information with
- The business you contacted sees your number and messages, so they can answer you.
- Service providers that run parts of the service for us: Twilio (phone calls and text messages) and Cloudflare (hosting, database and security). They may only use the information to provide their services to us.
- When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety and security of the service, our customers or others.
How long we keep it
We keep account and message records while the business's account is active, so they can see their history. When a business is deleted, its call and message records are deleted with it. Security records such as failed-login attempts are deleted within a day.
Security
Connections are encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are stored only as salted hashes, and access to dashboards requires a login. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your choices
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal information by using hello@textedyouback.com or the contact form at textedyouback.com. Account holders can update most details in their account settings. To stop texts from a business, reply STOP.
Children
The service is for businesses and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
We may update this policy and will change the date above when we do. Significant changes will be shared with account holders.
